摘要 | Co-injection moulding is widely used in our daily life for manufacturing soft-feel skin/hard core, virgin skin/recycled core, and many other arranged products. However, there are still too many combinations of designs and parameters to cause that the interface between skin and core materials is not easy to be well controlled. In this study, we have applied three different material combination, say PS/PS, PS/PP, and PS/ABS. For each combination, it can be arranged as low viscosity-to-high viscosity (Low/High) or high vis-cosity-to-low viscosity (High/Low) structure. Results showed that at PS/PS system with a unique skin-to-core ratio and a fixed flow rate, general operation parameters have no significant effect on the change of the inter-face between skin and core. As in PS/PS combination with Low/High structure, it generates longer and nar-rower locus. On the other hand, as in High/Low structure, it generates shorter and wider locus. Moreover, as considered the different material combination, PS/PP and PS/ABS with Low/High structure, the core penetra-tion trend of the longer and narrower locus is similar as that of PS/PS system with the same structure. Howev-er, the core penetration distance is influenced significantly by the materials. Furthermore, to get more preci-sion prediction on the core penetration distance, it is investigated through the interaction among various material properties and time domain. Results showed that in Low/High structure, the different core penetration distance behavior is proportional to the dynamic change of the viscosity as time period proceeded. Finally, some experimental studies are also performed to verify the numerical predictions. In the general core penetration measurement, the numerical prediction is in a good agreement with the experimental data in trend. |
